Magnificent Antique Persian Copper Plate Tray Intricate Hand Tooled Hammered Ali

Likely dating to around the "turn of the century" all of this amazing work is hand tooled, pressed or hammered by a very talented unnamed artist.  My research tells me it may depict the Prophet Muhammad''s successor and first amam Ali.  I do not read Islamic or Arabic language so can''t be sure. The most amazing design elements are the six beautiful birds that encircle him.

It has a good weight to it. There are spots of naturally occuring areas of surface oxidation and tarnish.  Measures just short of 11" diameter and there is a small piece of hardware soldered on for it to be hung on the wall with.  I have left the piece as found and have not cleaned it, so that you, the buyer, may clean it to your own preference
